With all that out of the way lets consider real world peformance in games and the HD 5870 equals or beats the HD 6950 in most games especailly at high resolutions and in particular creams the HD 6950 in DX9 and DX10 games if you look around the internet from Toms Hardware to any of the other sites who test graphics hardware you will find this to be true.
